How to Tailor Your Resume for a Job

🪄✨ Tailoring your resume to the job description is a much better way to submit yourself to a job application ✨

Why?

Because you translate and align your relevant experience and skillsets to what the job is looking for. This helps recruiters and hiring managers to see what you are focused on.

So I encourage you to not send the same resume to every job application.

** UNLESS you have a linear career path and trajectory. However, I would still anchor to the job description to make sure you highlight the relevant experience.

💫 Because tailoring resumes are important, I also say this to anyone who is sending their resumes to recruiters and hiring managers saying “Here’s my resume, am I a fit for anything you’re hiring for?”.

I understand you want to get ahead, but this may not always be the best way to show up because 1) you didn’t check the career site, and 2) you could be sending a general resume that isn’t catered to a job they are hiring for. You could be missing critical information. So don’t leave it to chance!
