Networking is a long game 🏹

It’s about a series of conversations 💬

These conversations range from small talk, learning about each other personally, sharing insights professionally, having a laugh or two, and maybe even getting vulnerable with each other. The timing can range from a quick check-in to a pre-planned hour long talk.

So, you know, similar to having chats with friends.

🛑 So please. Stop putting all your eggs in one basket. Or in the case of my DMs, asking loaded questions in a message and expecting someone to sit and write an essay for you.

Questions such as:

🟠 What advice do you have to get into entertainment/gaming?
🟠 What advice do you have to get into XYZ role/profession/field?
🟠 What career advice in general do you have?

All great questions. But best answered through a number of conversations. Y’all want the cake, but no one asked the steps to make it. Y’all want the secret sauce but there’s a recipe.

If you’re asking questions like this while networking and not getting a response, time to change up your strategy!

Small steps 👟, high impact ⚡️, long game in play 🏃🏻‍♀️
