Here’s a fun recruiting reality…

I’m thinking about my hiring strategy and plan for 2023. I’m asking myself what I can do to elevate my pipeline of qualified candidates for roles I’ll be responsible for next year.

One of the things I’m going to do?

🌤 Revisit past candidates.

🔁 Which candidates did we want to consider, but the timing wasn’t right?
🔁 Which candidates were referred and continue to get referred to us for opportunities?
🔁 Which candidates didn’t have the experience last year, but could have added new skills?
🔁 Which candidates were silver medalists or 2nd runner-ups, but now have a new opportunity to consider them for?
🔁 Which candidates showed interest and continued to stay in touch even if an opportunity didn’t work out in the past?

In the recruiting world, I’m sure I’m not the only one who is doing this. It’s actually not a brand-new strategy or something groundbreaking. I believe it’s something typically done 💫

But this is a reminder of why staying in touch with your network, recruiters, hiring managers, colleagues, and friends is important. No doesn’t mean never, but not now. But now could be sooner than you think!

Recruiting is a revolving door! 🚪 Don’t ever think you’ve been shut out. Check; that closed door is probably unlocked!
