Applying multiple times or applying again to the same company?

Here’s my take and things to consider:

👯‍♀️ Apply to similar roles - when you apply for everything (and yes we can see your profile and the multiple roles tied to your profile), it doesn’t show recruiters or hiring managers what you’re focused on. Even if you’re transitioning, it helps to apply to show continuity and a linear path.

👆🏼 This is important to remember if you applied to multiple roles and got an interview for one of them. I know you’ll get the itch to want to ask about the other positions you applied to, but the initial conversation with the recruiter may not be the best time. The recruiter will want to know you’re serious about the opportunity you’re both chatting about. When bringing up other roles you’ve applied to, it gives the sense that you are less interested in the current role. This could change what the recruiter thinks in terms of your interest in the position.

🏹 If you interviewed with a company, but got rejected, you can apply again. However, your profile will be fresh to the recruiters and hiring managers as someone they just passed on. If you’re applying to something similar, note you could be rejected again if it’s looking for the same skillsets and experience.

📱 Stay in touch with the recruiter. Hopefully, you are building a relationship with them during the interview process because they could be your advocate for other opportunities you might be a better fit for.
